Biography
Dennis Del Favero was born in Sydney of Italian/Cadorin parents. He has had numerous exhibitions including solo shows at Münchner Stadtmuseum, Munich; ViaFarini, Milan and Neue Galerie, Graz. He has participated in various major international exhibitions including Sex and Crime, Sprengel Museum Hannover, 1996; Kriegszustand, Battle of the Nations War Memorial, Leipzig (joint project with Jenny Holzer), 1996; Der anagrammatische Körper, Kunsthaus Mürzzuschlag, Mürzzuschlag, 1999; Future Cinema, 2003, ZKM, Centre for Art and Media, Karlsruhe. He is Co-founder and Co-director of the iCinema Centre for Interactive Cinema Research at the University of New South Wales and Artist-in-Resident at ZKM. His CD-ROM multimedia work has been published by Hatje Cantz and during 2001 he co-edited with Jeffrey Shaw (dis)LOCATIONS, an interactive DVD-ROM and book. He is co-editor of the iCinema Digital Arts Edition series published by iCinema, ZKM and International University Bremen. During 2004 his work is the subject of a survey exhibition and book by the Sprengel Museum Hannover and the Ivan Dougherty Gallery, Sydney.
The artist lives and works in Sydney.
